Anyone know what happened to Jay bouwmeester? I saw a scary clip of him collapsing on the bench.

Edit: The game was canceled. Hope he’s ok

This one hurts in the standings the most. I don’t care about the first period they remedied it and played much better. They needed to get that game into overtime somehow someway, too many losses of the regulation variety will have them on the outside looking in

Thing is, they had to spend the next 39 minutes digging out from that first period. They had to over-use the top line and 9-15, which meant that once they finally did get it tied, the Barzal line got out against 25-13-18-6-5.

The first period was what put the Flyers behind the 8-ball, and left them with no margin for error the rest of the night. As much as the late goal by Pulock stung, the amount of work that it took to finally get the Couturier goal set things up to where they couldn't get the personnel they'd have otherwise wanted against Barzal's line.

Canes lost but still have a game in hand.

Loss stings but the comeback is something they can build on. Team needs to gain some composure when under pressure. Too many times guys look like they are in full panic mode and a goal is scored against.

That helps. But it makes this loss sting even worse. Should have, at minimum, a 1.5 game lead.

Oh well. I’m just stating the obvious. I’m not feeling great about this trip down south. They historically don’t tend to fair well on this trip. This game was a must have and when it gets tied with 1:30 left, after being down 3-0, there is no excuse for not getting a point.

People who were complaining that JVR, Myers, etc were out there in the final 30-secs need to read this line.

Some people thinking that Raffl and Braun were available, don’t seem wrong to me.

You don't remedy getting down 3-0. You don't think that first period cost them the game? Why do you think Couturier was on the bench for that last shift?

Exciting game with the comeback. you kinda had a feeling they were going to tie it up. Kudos to them for clawing back. But still one of the most painful losses to watch and could have been avoided. Thankfully the Canes lost, but this still feels like one of the worst losses this season

It def hurts a lot. Needed to get that to ot for the point. I am happy with the way they battled back, and they’re going to need to forget and win the next game here. Need 2 pts out of Florida which is a tall task.

I have not been this perturbed about a loss since walking out of the arena from game 2 against Detroit in the SCF.

Not even getting a point hurts...probably not as bad as the loses to NJ and MTL..but the roller coaster of emotion after the first period just to have the rug yanked out...

Bad loss but not nearly as bad as the Devils game. Why the difference between the first period and the next two periods? Why weren't they prepared to play? Why were they flat in the first period?

They played an awful first period that put them behind the 8-ball. They dominated the next 39 mins to tie the game, then poop their drawers in the last minute.

Bill,

Any idea as to why this team doesn’t seem to be able to start playing at puck drop? Crapping the bed in the 1st followed by good 2nd and 3rd periods has been a maddening trend this team has followed for years. It has continued even with coaching and upper management changes.

Thanks
